The view from Jimmy’s Crows Nest

Today I scoured the Tampa Bay Times Ultimate Bar Guide in search of a good rooftop bar in Clearwater.  My goal was to shoot a very quintessential Florida photo that could serve as a header for this blog, but in order to do this I needed a great view.  This is where Jimmy’s Crows Nest comes in.  Jimmy’s Crows nest is a popular rooftop bar on the 10th floor of the Pier House 60 Marina Hotel on Clearwater beach.  It turned out to be both a great place to take photos and a great place to hang out.  On deck, tourists and locals enjoyed tropical drinks and took photos of the view with their cameras and cell phones.  Down below, beach-goers swam in the gulf and lounged under colorful beach umbrellas; motor boats and wave runners came to and from the Clearwater marina; and the Jolley Trolley made its way around town.
